A restaurant with a spectacular bay view doesn't usually have food to match... but Skates By The Bay is the exception. It's has an astonishing Bay, Golden Gate, and San Francisco view.... and outstanding food to match! Their Omaha Steaks are "like butta"

The Marina is a great place to take the kids. It's home to the Berkeley Fishing Pier (which I believe was once a ferry terminal), a Marina with Bay Cruises, a lovely Double Tree Hotel (you'll hear the foghorns ... a sound I enjoy), Cesar Chavez Park (site of the annual Bay To Barkers parade for 4 legged pooches... and their people, and a Kite Festival.

There's also an Adventure Park for the kids.
